Man Utd bring in midfielder Amrabat and defender Reguilon on loan

Reuters, September 1 - Sofyan Amrabat, a Moroccan midfielder, has joined Manchester United on a season-long loan from Fiorentina, while Sergio Reguilon, a Spanish left back, has joined from Tottenham Hotspur.

Although the 27-year-old Amrabat's transfer was not made public, British media reported that United will pay 8.6 million pounds ($10.83 million) and have the option to purchase.

"Joining Manchester United is a tremendous honor. I had to wait for this time, but I always follow my heart, and I'm now a representative of the team of my aspirations," he remarked.

Amrabat, who has 49 caps, participated fully in Morocco's World Cup run in Qatar last year, playing every minute.

Luke Shaw of England, who had a muscle injury last month and will be out for several weeks, will be replaced by the 26-year-old Reguilon. Tyrell Malacia, the backup, is also sidelined because of an injury from last year.

Reguilon joined Spurs in 2020 after spending a season on loan at Sevilla, where he won the Europa League, having graduated from the Real Madrid academy.
