Ronald Acuña Jr. makes MLB history just hours after wedding

Just hours after getting married, Ronald Acua Jr. made Major League Baseball (MLB) history, making it a memorable day for him.

Acua has had an outstanding MLB season thus far, and in the Atlanta Braves' 8-7 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night, the 25-year-old became the first individual to ever hit 30 home runs and steal 60 bases in a same season - with 29 games remaining.

Acua not only reached this historic milestone, he accomplished so in a spectacular way.

In the second inning, with the score knotted at 1-1 and, more significantly, with the bases loaded, the outfielder went up to the plate.

Acua hit his 30th home run of the year, a monster blast to left field off Lance Lynn that resulted in a historic grand slam.

Through a translator, Acua reportedly stated, "I feel very happy, I feel very special," according to ESPN. "I'm very appreciative, and I feel very fortunate,"

Moments like this will increase the likelihood that the Venezuelan will win the prized National League MVP title at the end of the season.

After Acua's grand slam, the game ultimately developed into a thriller between two of the World Series favorites, with the Dodgers nearly pulling off an incredible comeback.

Brian Snitker, manager of the Braves, commented, "That was some kind of game." I guess it lived up to the hype.

Despite creating history on the field, Acua could remember the day more for reasons that have nothing to do with sports.

The Braves player wed Maria Laborde, his longtime girlfriend, only hours before he faced the Dodgers.

Acua said in Spanish to ESPN, "We're a family. We've wanted to be together ever since we first met. There are two of us. Family members should live together. That comes first, then everything else. I'm thrilled that it will now take place.

Acua continued, "I didn't mention anything to anybody," when speaking with media after the game. "I've had it planned out for weeks," the speaker said.

Michael Harris II, a teammate of Acua's, remarked on the milestone day: "He got married and became the first player in history to have 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases." "What a crazy day that was."

There appear to be many reasons for Acua to rejoice, with the Braves leading the National League East with an MLB-best 88-45 record, a historic accomplishment, and now a wedding.
