Indian cricket player Jasprit Bumrah recently returned from the Asia Cup, where he was forced to miss his team's Group A match against Nepal for "personal reasons" that were not made public.
He hurried back to be with his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, as they welcomed their first child, a newborn boy named Angad, on a Monday, it was later discovered. Bumrah enthusiastically announced this wonderful news on his Instagram page, along with a heartfelt statement and a lovely image of the new family holding hands.
Bumrah and Sanjana's romance began discreetly, away from the media's and the public's prying eyes. In sharp contrast to the lavish weddings of some of their celebrity contemporaries, such as Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma or Hardik Pandya and Natassa Stankovic, they exchanged vows in a low-key ceremony in Goa in March 2021. A small group of people in their tight circle were aware of their developing romance.
When Bumrah was abruptly dropped from the Indian team prior to the fourth Test match against England in Ahmedabad, the beginnings of their connection became apparent. Soon after, their wedding pictures appeared online and quickly went viral. Unfortunately, rigorous Covid-19 bio-bubble regulations prevented their cricket-playing buddies from attending the festivities.
Following their nuptials, the couple shared photos of themselves from time to time. During India's tour of England that same year, Sanjana even interviewed Bumrah. However, Bumrah and Sanjana both progressively disappeared from view. Stress fracture in his back caused Bumrah to miss a full year of competitive cricket, which was a serious blow.
"Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine," Bumrah wrote in a social media post. Our son, Angad Jasprit Bumrah, entered the world this morning. Bumrah posted on his Instagram, "We are over the moon and can't wait for all this new chapter of our lives brings with it.
Sanjana abruptly withdrew from her broadcasting job in the meanwhile after receiving unjustified abuse for posting holiday photos on social media. Despite the difficulties, she exhibited fortitude and grace throughout their voyage in reacting to those who unfairly criticized her for Bumrah's absence.
