Kylian Mbappe scores 2 goals as PSG rout Lyon 4-1 in French league

After four games, PSG stayed unbeaten and passed enmity rival Marseille on goal differential to take second place behind leader Monaco.
With two goals against struggling Lyon on Sunday, Kylian Mbappé moved to the top of the French league scoring lists as Paris Saint-Germain recorded its greatest win of the season under new coach Luis Enrique, a 4-1 victory.

The opponent of reigning champion PSG was of mediocre caliber, despite the glossy-looking outcome. Three of PSG's goals were from counterattacks, one from a goalmouth scramble, and the first came from a carelessly given penalty.

PSG scored all of its goals in the opening period against a poor Lyon team. Despite complaining about his team's performance the previous weekend, captain Corentin Tolisso carelessly tackled PSG's Manuel Ugarte after failing to control a pass from his own goalie. In the fourth minute, Mbappé beat Portugal goalkeeper Anthony Lopes with a crisp shot through the middle despite Lopes getting a leg on it.

After Lyon's defense failed to stop a cross from right back Achraf Hakimi in the 20th minute, attacking midfielders Marco Asensio and Mbappé finished with precision after making quick breakouts.
