Luis de la Fuente, entrenador de la selección española, ya pasó por la alfombra roja que conduce al inside del Théâtre du Châtelet de París. El DT competirá con Lionel Scaloni y otros entrenadores más al premio como el mejor DT del año.

Se va revelando el rating de los futbolistas que estuvieron entre los nominados al Balón de Oro. Quien quedó 16 fue Granit Xhaka (Suiza, Bayer Leverkusen); 15, Nico Williams (España, Athletic Membership); 14, Ademola Lookman (Nigeria, Atalanta); 13, Dani Olmo (España, Leipzig / Barcelona); 12, Florian Wirtz (Alemania, Bayer Leverkusen) y 11 Phil Foden (Inglaterra, Manchester Metropolis).

Como viene siendo routine desde el año 2019, Didier Drogba y Sandy Heribert volverán a ser los presentadores de la gala del Balón de Oro 2024. El ex futbolista y la periodista francesa se han convertido en los últimos años en un clásicos de una de las noches más importante del año en el mundo del fútbol. El ex del Chelsea y leyenda del fútbol africano, también viene ejerciendo en los últimos años como embajador del premio.

El arquero argentino quedó en el puesto 18 entre los candidatos a quedarse con el Balón de oro 2024. Sin embargo, continúa en la nominación para ganar el premio Yashin al mejor arquero.

Además se ubicó a Martin Odegaard (Noruega, Arsenal) en el puesto 20, Hakan Calhanoglu (Turquía, Inter) 19 y Federivco Valverde (Actual Madrid, Uruguay), en el 17.

Los criterios que impone la Revista France Soccer para la elección son los siguientes:

• Estado de forma mostrado durante la temporada

• Títulos colectivos logrados durante el año pure en curso

• Imagen pública del jugador, tanto dentro como fuera del campo donde entran en juego el Truthful Play del jugador o los actos filantrópicos de la persona.

La 68ª edición de la ceremonia de entrega de premios tendrá lugar en el Theatre du Chatelet de la ciudad de París. La ceremonia comenzará a las 20:45, hora native.

El Balón de Oro lo deciden un listado de 180 periodistas designados de los 100 mejores países mejor clasificados en la FIFA, estos también votarán al trofeo Yashin al mejor arquero. Cada periodista puntuará a cinco futbolistas y englobando todas las votaciones, de ahí saldrá el ganador closing. Sin embargo, el trofeo Kopa lo elegirán los ganadores del Balón de Oro que sigan vivos.

• Tercero elegido: Dos puntos

• Cuarto elegido: Dos puntos

• Quinto elegido: Un punto

Por lo tanto, no hay un jurado como tal que decida quien es el vencedor de este premio, si no que el ganador del Balón de Oro saldrá del recuento de las votaciones de los 180 periodistas de los 100 mejores países clasificados de la FIFA.

Dentro de los 30 nominados, los que continúan entre el 25 y el 21 son Cole Palmer (Chelsea), William Saliba (Arsenal), Rúben Dias (Manchester Metropolis), Antonio Rudiger (Actual Madrid) y Bukayo Saka (Arsenal).

Ellas son Yui Hasegawa (Japón, Manchester Metropolis), Manuela Giugliano (Italia, Roma), Lauren Hemp (Inglaterra, Manchester Metropolis), Ewa Pajor (Polonia, Wolfsburg / Barcelona) y Grace Geyoro (Francia, PSG).

Ya surgen los primeros nombres en ser revelados por la Revista France Footbal. Desde el puesto 26 al 29 están Declan Rice (Arsenal), Vitinha (PSG), Alejandro Grimaldo (Bayer Leverkusen), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund) y Artem Dovbyk (Girona).

Actual Madrid tomó la decisión de cancelar el viaje de su delegación a París para la gala del Balón de Oro, ya que los medios españoles aseguran que está confirmado que Vinicius Junior, el delantero brasileño, no recibirá el prestigioso premio. Esta decisión, que generó un profundo malestar en el membership, se tomó luego de recibir información sobre la falta de reconocimiento a su jugador estrella.

El entrenador de la selección argentina campeona del mundo en Qatar 2022 y bicampeona de América, Lionel Scaloni, está ternado entre los mejores técnicos de la temporada y comparte la nómina con Carlo Ancelotti (Actual Madrid), Josep Guardiola (Manchester Metropolis) y Luis De La Fuente, quien llevó a España a ganar la Eurocopa 2024.

Será una ceremonia con presencia argentina, porque si bien el capitán de la selección, Lionel Messi, no estará por primera vez en 21 años, sí figuran en la nómina de los 30 elegibles para el Balón de Oro, tanto Lautaro Martínez como Emiliano Martínez. Sin embargo, las predicciones no los ponen entre los favoritos a quedarse con el premio.

El arquero también figura en la terna al premio Yashin al mejor arquero. Otro de los nominados es Alejandro Garnacho, que figura entre los candidatos a ganar el Trofeo Kopa que se le otorga al mejor jugador menor de 21 años al 31 de julio de 2024.

Esta celebración tendrá una particularidad, ya que este año no entraron en la consideración ni Lionel Messi ni Cristiano Ronaldo, el portugués con el que marcó una rivalidad histórica pero también una period de dominio por encima del resto de los futbolistas del mundo. En los últimos 21 años rntre ambos se quedaron con 13 de los últimos 15 galardones.

Entre los candidatos al Mejor Jugador hay 30 futbolistas y sobresalen Jude Bellingham (Actual Madrid), Rodri (Manchester Metropolis), y Vinicius Jr. (Actual Madrid). Según el diario Marca de España, el galardón sería para el delantero brasileño del conjunto merengue que, de recibirlo, volvería a poner a un futbolista de su país en la cima, ya que no le otorgan este premio a un brasileño desde 2007, cuando fue reconocido Kaká.
