Each the Colorado State and Oregon State soccer groups are coming off a bye week main into Saturday’s sport at Reser Stadium. Oregon State gained in double extra time.

Oregon State will get cease, wins in 2OT

It’s now 39-31. CSU has to score a TD and convert the 2-point to stay alive.

Oregon State quickly scores. Gevani McCoy races in for a 19-yard TD run, his third of the game.

Oregon State opts to kick the extra point and we’re headed to a second overtime. Oregon State ball first.

We’re tied 31-31.

Colorado State touchdown in OT

CSU strikes with a TD in overtime. Short pass to Caleb Goodie and he turns on the jets to find the end zone. CSU benefitted from a defensive pass interference on a third and long.

It’s a 17-yard TD for Fowler-Nicolosi to Goodie. CSU goes up 31-24 after first possession of overtime.

A wild fourth quarter leads us to overtime at 24-24.

Oregon State won the toss and elected to play defense. CSU offense up first.

Everett Hayes hits a 44-yard field goal with 24 seconds left. Oregon State drove the ball 52 yards in 14 plays in 1:30.

It’s 24-24 with 20 seconds left.

Colorado State takes lead

On 4th and goal from the 1 Colorado State motions into wildcat and Avery Morrow runs it in from 1-yard out.

Then Rams go trick play and Tory Horton runs it in on the two-point.

Colorado State leads Oregon State 24-21 with 1:56 to go.

Dramatic finish

CSU quickly drives inside the red zone but Oregon State standing tough. CSU has a 4th and goal from a long 1 after the two-minute timeout.

Oregon State gets one first down but then the Rams get a stop, highlighted by a big hit from Elias Larry to breakup a long pass.

CSU ball at own 19 with 4:59 to go. Oregon State leads 21-16.

Colorado State touchdown

Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi throws a 10-yard touchdown pass to Tory Horton. Rams go for two, but fail.

It was a 75-yard play in 6:53. Rams had to burn their second timeout before the touchdown.

Oregon State lead is 21-16 with 7:59 to go.

Oregon State with an aggressive move, going for it on 4th and 2 to open the fourth quarter. It pays off. CSU can’t get Gevani McCoy down on the QB run and he scores a 7-yard TD.

It’s now 21-10 Oregon State with 14:52 to go. The 87-yard drive took 8:51.

Third quarter flies by. Oregon State lead is still 14-10. Beavers have a 4th and 2 at CSU’s 7.

Colorado State had just one drive that quarter.

Colorado State penalties costly

Another big penalty hurts CSU on its first drive of the second half. A long Avery Morrow run would have had CSU inside Oregon State’s 30, but it comes back on a hold.

Rams burn a timeout on 3rd and 21 and throw behind line of scrimmage after the TO. Teams trade punts early third quarter.

Still 14-10 Oregon State.

CSU quickly forces a three-and-out to begin the second half.

Oregon State 14, Colorado State 10.

Yardage is 205-153 for Oregon State. CSU’s five penalties prove costly, both taking away points for the Rams and helping give points to the Beavers.

Oregon State has a 3rd and goal from CSU’s 10 but a defensive holding call keeps the drive alive. The next play is another defensive hold.

Finally, with 3 seconds until half Oregon State punches it in with an Anthony Hankerson 1-yard run.

Oregon State takes a 14-10 lead.

Colorado State field goal

Jordan Noyes hits a 25-yard field goal to give CSU a 10-7 lead with 5:13 until half. It was a 68-yard drive in 10 plays.

In a way a good response, but CSU had an 11-yard Justin Marshall TD wiped out due to illegal formation. Then CSU had a delay of game (CSU has already used all three timeouts). Poor execution to stall in the red zone.

CSU had a long pass play to Tory Horton on the drive.

CSU has Oregon State in a 4th and 2 at the Colorado State 30 but Gevani McCoy keeps on an option and races for a 29-yard TD. It caps a 82-yard drive in 10 plays and 4:44.

It’s 7-7 with 11:04 until halftime.

Colorado State forces INT, scores touchdown

Oregon State had only turned the ball over once this season and CSU entered the game minus-5 in turnovers.

Big swing play early. Gevani McCoy throws a pass, CSU’s Chase Wilson with a big hit on the receiver and Gabe Kirschke with an athletic interception. It gives CSU the ball at Oregon State’s 12.

First play after the INT and Justin Marshall races around the edge and scores a 12-yard TD. CSU goes up 7-0 with 10:15 left in the first quarter.
