The Democratic Nationwide Conference modified its tune this election 12 months, getting delegates joyfully dancing and singing as they nominated Vice President Kamala Harris to guide their presidential contest ticket.

DNC musical host DJ Cassidy blasted a unique music in Chicago’s United Middle as every state’s delegation rose to solid their votes for the nomination roll name Tuesday night time, boosting an already celebratory temper within the corridor.

Some songs featured the state’s title of their title, together with Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Candy House Alabama,” Beyoncé’s “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” and The B-52s’ “Non-public Idaho.”

Different songs had been chosen as a result of artist’s residence state: Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the united statesA” for New Jersey; Prince’s “1999” for Minnesota; Michael Jackson’s “Do not Cease ‘Til You Get Sufficient” for Indiana; and Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe,” for Missouri.

Rhode Island’s delegation solid their ballots to the tune of “Shake It Off,” by Taylor Swift, who owns a house within the state.

When DNC Secretary Jason Rae requested Georgia’s delegates how they solid their votes, Lil Jon — an Atlanta native — emerged from the stands to the roar of the gang.

The rapper sang his hit music “Flip Down for What,” altering its lyrics to “End up for what,” and led the gang in chants of Harris’ slogan: “We’re not going again.”

The roughly hour-long roll name, usually one of many dullest segments of a celebration’s conference, took social media by storm.

Many in contrast it to the Republican Nationwide Conference’s roll name in July, which was markedly quieter.

“I am sorry however this #DNC2024 roll name with DJ Cassidy, themed state music and get together/membership ambiance is blowing the RNC’s roll name out of the water,” Meghan McCain wrote in a submit on social media website X.

“It seems to be like a large get together and celebration and everybody in that room seems to be like they’re having a blast,” wrote McCain, whose father, late Republican Sen. John McCain, was the get together’s nominee for president in 2008.

The Lincoln Venture tweeted, “Drained: RNC roll name. Wired: DNC roll name.”

The Democratic Nationwide Conference Committee printed the setlist of 62 songs on Spotify, as requested by a number of social media posts.

Not like previous conventions, Tuesday’s delegate roll name was solely ceremonial. Democratic Nationwide Committee Chair Jaime Harrison introduced earlier this month that Harris had secured the get together’s nomination after an internet vote.
