Wife of Lufthansa CEO expresses ‘deep sorrow’ over fatal car accident in Italy

ROME (AP) — Vivian Spohr, the spouse of Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr, stated on Friday she was “on the compete disposal” of Italian judicial authorities following the demise of a 24-year-old girl who was struck by a car in Sardinia.

Native media reviews stated Vivian Spohr was on the wheel of a SUV that was in collision with a pedestrian at a crosswalk on Tuesday in Porto Cervo. Gaia Costa, 24, from Tempio Pausania, within the Gallura area of northern Sardinia, died of great head accidents on the scene, in response to reviews.

In an announcement issued by her Italian lawyer on Friday, the 51-year-old German businesswoman expressed “dismay and deep sorrow for this grave accident, which has devastated a household, the city of Tempio, and your complete neighborhood of Gallura.”

The assertion added that Spohr locations herself “on the full disposal of the Italian judicial authorities for the mandatory investigations and, whereas conscious that such an excellent private loss can’t be repaired, will take steps to mitigate its penalties.”

Spohr had been staying at her household’s trip residence when the accident occurred, native media reported. She returned to Germany shortly after the accident.
