It’s Labor Day weekend, and that means the 2026 MLB regular season is almost over. MLB games on NBC and Peacock: Labor Day Weekend 2026
NBC Sports’ Labor Day baseball action begins on Sunday, September 6, with two games. The Atlanta Braves will face the Philadelphia Phillies in a major NL East showdown in the afternoon, then in the evening, Sunday Night Baseball takes over as the Minnesota Twins swing for a Wild Card spot against the division leading Chicago White Sox in a key AL Central battle.
The action continues in primetime on Labor Day, September 7, when the St. Louis Cardinals face the San Francisco Giants as the Cards look for any kind of path that might take them into a Wild Card spot.

Atlanta vs. Philadelphia
The Braves and the Phillies will begin Sunday, September 6 at 1 p.m. ET, live on NBC and streaming simultaneously on Peacock from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. St. Louis vs. San Francisco

What to expect from NBC’s Labor Day weekend games
Braves vs. Phillies
It doesn’t get much better than this: The two top teams in a division, both major playoff contenders, slugging it out on a holiday weekend. The Braves and the Phillies are both stacked, with great offense and pitching, and while the Phillies might have the slight edge in the pitching department, the Braves still have the upper hand here, even on the road. Still, this one’s a toss-up, and either team could pull ahead, particularly when you consider the tear the Phillies have been on lately.
Twins vs. White Sox
Helped along by a core group of consistently excellent batters, the White Sox have pushed ahead to a division title spot if they can keep winning, while the Twins are slugging it out with the hope of capturing one of the American League’s Wild Card spots. They’ll have an uphill battle to beat the Sox here, but if they can pull it off, they’re one game closer to marching into the postseason.
Cardinals vs. Giants
This game features a Cardinals team fighting hard to get back into contention for a Wild Card slot, with just enough time left to make it happen. Led by the bats of Alec Burleson and Jordan Walker, they’ve got a legitimate shot at a late surge to put them in the postseason, and it’s up to the Giants to try to spoil that playoff hunt. The Giants have the home field edge, but the Cardinals know what’s on the line, and they’ll be fighting every single inning.
