Newly released police video shows arrest of Packers running back Josh Jacobs
One woman alleged an incident happened nearly five years ago in January 2022. She contacted police in June 2026 as they investigated a more recent incident involving the Packers running back.
Per the records, the woman, who was not identified, contacted investigators in June after learning about the May investigation, telling police the allegations sounded similar to her prior experience with Jacobs. She said the incident had never been reported to law enforcement. She said she contacted police when she believed her alleged experience with Jacobs could be relevant to the case and also because she wanted people to believe the woman involved in the May 2026 incident that led to Jacobs’ arrest.
According to the records, the woman alleged Jacobs slapped her across the face and later took the her cellphone as she attempted to leave his residence. The woman told investigators that Jacobs grabbed her by the hair, threw her onto a bed, pinned her down and later threw her onto the floor. The woman also alleged Jacobs spit on her and grabbed her by the throat.
The woman told police she initially met Jacobs through Instagram and communicated with him for approximately six months prior to meeting him in person. She said she remained friends with him for some time after the incident and did not want to report him.
Another woman contacted police later that month, telling them that during an argument in April of 2021 Jacobs grabbed her by the arms and bicep area, pushed her against a wall near a window and threw her belongings outside the home. She said she suffered bruising to her arms and pain and swelling in her rib area.
The woman told the Hobart/Lawrence police that she called the police at the time. She said she later contacted the unnamed police department and said she was told it was not being investigated as a domestic incident because she and Jacobs were not in a relationship at the time. The records released to NBC 26 say detectives with the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department received records from that call. Those records indicated responding officers observed no visible signs of injury, bruising, or damage consistent with a physical altercation.
The woman indicated she had known Jacobs for about a year at the time of the incident, according to records.
The report later described a phone call with a third woman in July who told Hobart/Lawrence Police that in May 2022 Jacobs placed his hands on her head and neck, dragged her, scratched her chest, and took possession of her cell phone after it fell to the floor. She said she suffered bruising to her arm and scratches to her chest which she said remained visible for about a month, according to the records.
The woman told Hobart/Lawrence Police she did not report the incident to police or seek medical treatment at the time. She said Jacobs told her she could be deported, and because of that she did not believe she could report the incident to law enforcement.
The report said police were given that woman’s information by the initial victim in the May 2026 case that led to Jacobs’ arrest and conviction.
The accounts surfaced during the department’s investigation into a May 23 incident at Jacobs’ home in Hobart. In that case, the victim told investigators that Jacobs restrained the victim multiple times, obstructed the victim’s breathing and prevented the alleged victim from leaving or calling police. During an interview, the victim told police she believed she was going to die. Officers documented redness and what appeared to be scratches on the victim’s head and scalp.
Jacobs was arrested May 26 and taken to the Brown County Jail without incident. He was later convicted of misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property after pleading no contest.
