WTA US Open R16 Best Bets Including Pegula vs Cirstea

The Round of 16 arrives at the 2026 WTA US Open. The Billie Jean King USTA National Tennis Center will host four matches on Sunday. These matches will determine the quarterfinals for the final Major of the season. The WTA US Open has created a second week in which a lot of the big names will be involved. Sunday’s order of play includes Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, and Marta Kostyuk, all players who have at least played in a Major semifinal. These are players who know what it takes to go deep in a big tournament. Now they will try to advance this week in New York and make some very special memories. Who will rise to the challenge? LWOS has our best bets for four matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.

WTA US Open

Kostyuk – Noskova: 12:30 EST

H2H: 1-1

The 2026 WTA US Open continues with Roland-Garros and Wimbledon semifinalist Marta Kostyuk facing reigning Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova. They met in the Wimbledon semifinals, with Noskova winning in straight sets. They met in Madrid on clay earlier this year, with Kostyuk winning on her favorite surface. Now they meet on hardcourt. It’s not an easy match to call.

Best Bet to Make

It’s not easy to tell who has the edge in this WTA US Open match. Kostyuk has been a consistent player at the Majors this year. Noskova won Wimbledon and should enter this match with a lot of confidence. If it’s hard to pick a winner, you should go with the over 2.5 set bet. There’s a decent chance this evenly matched Round of 16 battle goes the distance.

That being said, betting on over 2.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: over 2.5 sets at 2.35 @betsson

Pegula – Cirstea: 18:00 EST

H2H: 3-1

This WTA US Open match looks like a close one. Jessica Pegula needed three sets to earn a tough and close win over Leylah Fernandez in the previous round. Sorana-Mihaela Cirstea looked good in a straight-set win over Jasmine Paolini in her previous round. Pegula is not playing her best tennis right now, though she is the higher-ranked player and reached the WTA US Open final earlier this decade. Will Pegula benefit from playing in New York, or will her reputation for not playing her best at Majors come back to haunt her against an opponent who is playing well?

Best Bet to Make

This WTA US Open match looks like a three-setter. More specifically, Pegula is not playing well enough to trust her to win in straight sets. You could consider Cirstea against the game spread, but we think a three-set match is very possible, and you get a better return on investment betting on over 2.5 sets instead of Cirstea against the game or set spread.

That being said, betting on over 2.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Sabalenka – Townsend: 11:30 EST

H2H: 0-0

The 2026 WTA US Open continues with top seed Aryna Sabalenka trying to win a Major title this year. She hasn’t won one yet in 2026. This is her last chance. Sabalenka has won all six sets she has played in New York. She looks focused and refreshed. However, her opponent, Taylor Townsend, is playing great tennis. She upset seeded player Diana Shnaider in her previous match.

Best Bet to Make

Townsend could make this WTA US Open match close, but we like the way Sabalenka is playing. She seems to be focusing more on the tennis, and less on the pressure to win. Sabalenka moved smoothly through the first week. We think she is ready to win this match in straight sets. That’s our pick for a wager.

That being said, betting on Sabalenka winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Sabalenka winning 2:0 at 1.61 @1xBet

Kalinskaya – Navarro: 20:30 EST

H2H: 2-0

The Sunday night match at the WTA US Open features two players who posted upsets in their recent matches. Anna Kalinskaya beat Elina Svitolina. Emma Navarro beat Karolina Muchova. Navarro won in straight sets. Kalinskaya beat Svitolina in three sets. The betting markets have this match as a near toss-up. It’s hard to argue with those odds.

Best Bet to Make

This is another WTA US Open match that could go three sets. The two players met in Doha earlier this year, and that one went three sets. These are not easy matches to predict, so taking the over on a 2.5-set bet feels like the right play once again.

That being said, betting on over 2.5 sets is a value bet for sure.
